Onyinye Ndụ (F)

These two companion artworks depict figures receiving the flowing light of the sun into a bowl as a symbol of life itself. The bowl represents humanity’s capacity to receive, while the sun embodies the life giving force that nourishes all existence, reminding us that every living being depends on nature’s eternal gift. Inspired by the Igbo concept of Anya Anwụ Anwụ (the Sun), meaning “the eyes that never die,” the work reflects the sun as an immortal presence that rises each day, a witness to the lives of those who came before us.

Our artworks are produced on museum-grade archival canvas with a 400gsm heavyweight base, crafted from an oxygen-bleached 65/35 poly-cotton blend that combines the natural texture of cotton with the structural stability of polyester. The 20 mil (0.50 mm) thickness and refined Oxford weave ensure durability, resistance to sagging, and enhanced surface texture while preserving fine image detail.

Using acid-free and lignin-free materials, the canvas prevents yellowing and brittleness over time, while its high opacity and CIE whiteness rating of 120+ deliver deep blacks, vibrant highlights, and a wide tonal range. Each piece is printed using 12-color archival pigment (Giclée) inks, offering exceptional color accuracy and over 100 years of lightfastness under indoor conditions.

The canvas also maintains flexibility to resist cracking when stretched, and may be complemented with a modern floating frame that presents the artwork with a clean, elevated gallery finish.
